KARACHI: “It is constitutionally binding and a legal obligation of the government of Pakistan to support the Kashmiri freedom fighters”. This view was voiced by the supreme commander of Hizbul Mujahideen, Syed Salahuddin, in a press conference at Jamaat-e- Islami Karachi headquarters Idara Noor-e-Haq on Monday.
The commander vowed to continue the armed struggle against the occupying forces in held Jammu and Kashmir. He urged the government of Pakistan to make more effort for the cause of Kashmir on all fronts.
He sought the support from the government to empower stone throwers who are fighting against Indian forces without any support. He also talked about the idea of equipping these stone pelters with guns in an effort to kick out the occupyingIndian armed forces from their homeland. Salahuddin asked the government to increase efforts on the diplomatic front.
“The country’s mission in the United Nations should have held a sit-in at the UN against the silence of the global community over the genocide in Kashmir”.
He also believed the Modi-led Indian government was taking measures to illegally change the in held Kashmir.
“The government has established three types of colonies to keep outsiders living in the region”. He further said that the Indian government is usingthe most brutal techniques to suppress the freedom of movement.
Thousands of people have been wounded, hundreds have been killed while thousand others have been deprived of their eyesight, he added. The Commander also held the Indian government responsible for crushing the economy of held Kashmir.
Talking about the association of Kashmiri people with Pakistan, he stated,”the entire world witnesses green flags in the valley and particularly on the funeral of Burhan Muzzafar Wani, who had become a symbol of freedom. Pakistani flag is still being seen at his grave despite the presence of hundreds of thousands of Indian troops in the region”.
