LAHORE: The spokesman of National Transmission and Despatch Company Ltd (NTDC) on Tuesday said that due to a heavy cyclone on Sunday at 5:45pm, 7 towers each of 500 kV Dadu-Guddu transmission line and of 500 kV Dadu-Shikarpur transmission line collapsed along with two towers of Dadu-Jamshoro transmission line (circuit 2). The spokesman revealed that despite such a big disaster, the continuity of the power supply was not effected. The protection system of NTDC – being the most reliable one – ensured not only an un-interrupted power supply but also saved power system terminal equipments, hence no damage of any kind of equipment occurred.
