KARACHI: City police said on Wednesday that they had arrested four men believed to be members of a robbery gang wanted for 170 street crimes. The suspects – identified as Abdul Ahad, Shahzaib, Kamran and Babar – were arrested in a raid in the Garden area. This was stated in a press conference by SP City ShehlaQureshi. SP Qureshi said that one of the recent robbery incident the four suspects and their other gang members had shot and injured three people at Waseem Kitchen Centre onBadshahi Road in Old City area. She said there were at least nine other members of the gang the suspects were a part of. Several motorcycles, cash and other valuables were seized in the raid conducted to arrest the suspects. As many as 11 other suspects were arrested in separate raids in the city by the police and Rangers. In NabiBuksharea, the police caught three men later identified as ShakeelBaloch, Abdul and Muhammad Kashif and seized weapons found at their hideout. The suspects were believed to be involved in street crimes. Meanwhile, the paramilitary Rangers on Wednesday claimed to have arrested eight more suspects in its ongoing targeted raids.
