KARACHI: In an impressive display of fire power, the Pakistan Navy on Saturday successfully test-fired an air-to-sea-anti-ship missile in the North Arabian Sea.
According to a Pakistan Navy spokesperson, a Sea King Helicopter fired the missile in open sea, which successfully hit the target.
Chief of Naval Staff Mohammad Zakaullah witnessed the test-fire of the missile.
Speaking on the occasion, the naval chief said that successful firing by PN Helicopter Sea King is reflective of a high state of readiness and professionalism of the PN fleet. He reaffirmed the resolve of the Pakistan Navy to ensure the country’s seaward defence and safeguard maritime interests at all cost.
“In this striking demonstration of fire power, Pakistan Navy Helicopter Sea King launched an air to surface anti-ship missile which successfully hit the intended target with pinpoint accuracy, reaffirming the weapon’s lethality and offensive punch of the PN fleet, a PN statement said.
Admiral Zakaullah expressed his satisfaction over the combat readiness of the PN fleet and commended the efforts put in by all involved.
