LAHORE: At least three Frontier Corps (FC) personnel have been martyred in cross-border firing by terrorists from Afghanistan, said the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Friday.
According to ISPR, the militants launched the cross-border attack on FC troops busty in the construction of new border post at Shunkrai near Pak-Afghan border in Mohmand Agency.
At least five terrorists were killed by retaliatory fire from Pakistani forces and another 11 were injured, said the statement issued by the ISPR.
“Pakistan is paying the cost for lack of capacity in the Afghan armed forces and ungoverned spaces on the Afghan side of the border,” it added.
The attack was not the first of its kind. Several Pakistani soldiers have lost their lives in the cross-border attacks from Afghanistan.
