ISLAMABAD: The CPEC-Center of Excellence on Wednesday maintained that being a think tank it is not only determined to promote friendly relations between China and Pakistan but also multiply its contributions in the times to come to turn the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor initiative into a complete success. While detailing its performance since inception some 10 months back, a statement issued by the centre maintained that four collaborative conferences have already been conducted throughout the country in partnership with reputed universities, think tanks, and local/international public and private institutions. In addition, four more conferences are planned and will be accomplished by April this year. The website of the centre which is of international standard is replete with information regarding the CPEC. The research thematic areas of the centre are well functional under the supervision of foreign qualified and experienced scholars who have their dedicated expertise in relevant sectors in Pakistan and abroad. The centre has been publishing research articles which have helped a great deal to unfold new avenues for CPEC inclusive and sustainable development. The articles covered a wide range of topics highlighting pioneering ways to tap in to new opportunities for regional integration, development initiatives in the country, inclusive economic growth, etc. The centre is also launching ‘CPEC Quarterly’ on January 4 (today) at the Ministry of Planning Development and Reform, Islamabad. The publication will covers latest updates, opportunities and activities related to the CPEC, according to the statement. The centre is working on policy briefs and working papers which are regularly being shared with the relevant line ministries, academia and stake holders. The centre has also organized several capacity building workshops involving media delegations, universities, and chambers of commerce and industry from across the country, the statement concluded.
