KOT MOMIN: Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif on Wednesday said that the five-judge bench of the Supreme Court (SC) which ousted him ‘disrespected sanctity of the public vote.’
Speaking to a condolence gathering at Kot Momin, Nawaz said that the five judges who ousted him in Panama Papers case have ‘disrespected sanctity of public vote’ of millions of Pakistanis.
He added that the decision to oust PML-N from Senate elections was ‘unfair’, while he also termed the decision as pre-election rigging and a ‘conspiracy’ against the party.
Continuing his tirade, the former PM said that he was ousted for not receiving salary from his son’s company. He added that ‘even those who ousted him’ understand that Nawaz is innocent of any wrongdoing.
Nawaz further added that renowned lawmakers and lawyers opposed SC’s decision to disqualify him from premiership and that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan too accepted that the decision against former PM was ‘weak’.
