LAHORE: Ambassador of China to Pakistan Yao Jing on Friday said that stability in Pakistan is essential for the development of both the countries.
Speaking at a session organised by Lahore Centre for Peace Research (LCPR), Yao Jing said that Pakistan holds great significance for China’s vision of development and growth.
Continuing his address at the session titled ‘Pakistan-China relations in 21st century’, the dignitary added that the all-weather relations between the two countries would further improve due to the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI).
He added that the CPEC would not only be mutually beneficial for the two nations, it would also serve as link for global progress and communication. “Ownership of CPEC finally belongs to the whole world,” he remarked.
Former foreign secretary and Chairman LCPR Ambassador Shamshad Ahmed Khan, highlighted the efforts made by leadership of both countries to strengthen economic and social ties during his speech.
He added that Pak-China relations have always been unconditional and not based on temporary interests, while also adding that BRI would play a crucial role in ensuring a bright future and prosperity of the region.
