ISLAMABAD: The Foreign Office on Monday summoned United States (US) envoy David Hale to register protest against the killing of a man who was hit by defence attachee Col Joseph Emanuel Hall’s vehicle.
Foreign Secretary of Pakistan Tehmina Janjua summoned the foreign dignitary to register protest against the killing.
During the meeting between Janjua and Hale, the foreign secretary protested that Hall, who was driving an SUV on Saturday, had hit a motorcycle, killing one person and injuring the other.
She added that the Pakistani authorities will handle the incident according to the law and the Vienna Convention and that justice will be served.
David Hale expressed his deep sympathy and sadness over the incident and ensured full cooperation with the police during the investigations.
On Saturday, US defence attache Joseph Hall hit and killed Aatif, while injured his cousin Raheel near Kohsar police station in Islamabad.
