LAHORE: Pakistan and India, along with several other countries, will take part in joint military exercises under the banner of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) later this month.
This is the first time that the two countries will be taking part in joint military drills which are to take place in Ural mountains in Russia.
According to details, a total of 8 SCO member nations, including Pakistan, Indian and China, will take part in the anti-terrorism military drills.
Speaking to the media, the SCO spokesperson said that the joint drills aim to combat terrorism in the region and create a more peaceful and sustainable environment.
For this purpose, he added, Pakistan and India along with other member countries have agreed to take part in the exercises, which will take place in September.
The SCO 8 member nations include Pakistan, China, India, Russia, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan.
