MULTAN: While talking to APP on Monday, Shaheed Benazir Women Crisis Centre (SBWCC) Manager Samara Sheeren said that SBWCC received as many as 209 cases of torture against women this yearso far.
She said that most of the reported cases were on domestic disputes, while others were tortured and harassment cases. She added that several homeless women submitted residential accommodation applications in different welfare centres.
She said that the centre tried to resolve issues with negotiations between both parties and shifted torture case women in DarrulAman. She also said that some women avoided complaint registration due to social pressure.
