PESHAWAR: A blast in the Zarmelan area of the South Waziristan Agency on Monday resulted in death of three Frontier Corps (FC) personnel.
The Inter-Service Public Relations’ military wing confirmed that the personnel died after an improvised explosive device blast.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Iqbal Zafar Jhagra condemned the incident, saying the war against terrorism must reach its conclusion. He lauded the efforts of the country’s armed forces and added that the entire nation appreciated the efforts of security forces and the local tribes in their fight against terrorism.
FATA and KPK are regularly victimised by such occurrences.
On Sunday, a landmine explosion in Buner claimed the lives of two brothers.
Previous to that, a truck exploded on the border in Kherlachi, Kurram Agency while in January a suicide blast in Parachinar claimed over 25 lives.
