ISLAMABAD: The International Women’s Day is being celebrated on Wednesday across the globe, including Pakistan to commemorate the political, social and economic achievements of women.
LEAD Pakistan CEO Ali Tauqeer Sheikh, while speaking to media, said that on the occasion of Women’s Day, a seminar will be organised by LEAD Pakistan and ICIMOD in collaboration with Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) at International Islamic University where Benazir Income Support Programme Chairperson Marvi Memon will be the chief guest of the event.
The 2017 theme for International Women’s Day is “Be Bold for Change”. Sheikh said, this year, the theme will focus on the women who have paved the way towards our progress, yet at the same time, it is a reminder of the inequality that plagues society.
