FAISALABAD: Investigative report on Dawn Leaks should be made public in next 24 hours, stated Pakistan Ulema Council (PUC) Chairman Tahir Ashrafi.
Addressing a press conference on Tuesday at Aziz Hotel, Faisalabad, Hafiz Tahir Mehmood Ashrafi said that owing to the ongoing challenges at the national and international level, political as well as religious forces of the country should stay away from getting into any sort of controversies and foil the conspiracies of the enemies of Pakistan with unity. He believed the political and religious leadership of the country should adopt a democratic attitude in their conduct and public media debates.
On the occasion, representatives of the Pakistan Ulema Council from different divisions and districts of Punjab also attended the press conference including Ayub Safdar, Idrees Qasmi, Tayyab Qadri,Habibur Rehman, Zia Madni, Muhammad Irshad, Saadullah Ludhianvi, Tahir Gujjar, Shoaib Bukhari, Umar Gujjar, Abu Bakr Qasmi, Khalid Rauf and Ghulam
Ullah Khan.
The nation is united and committed to foil any conspiracies against Pakistan, affirmedAshrafi. Nawaz should address the ongoing misunderstandings in the Dawn Leaks, adding that it is the responsibility of the political and religious leadership of the country to give importance to the whims of the soldiers of Pakistan Army because military personnel are also part of the Pakistani nation.
Ashrafi also saidthe PUC since its inception has been carrying on the struggle to annihilate terrorism, extremism and sectarian violence. During the upcoming month of Ramazan, special programmes will be arranged all over the country and additionally, to facilitate aspirant pilgrims, special Arabic language training workshops will also be arranged. He also added that ‘Islamic Military Alliance’ endeavours are in process to devise an Islamic ideological alliance against terrorism and extremism.
To a question, Ashrafi urged Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar AliKhan to take note of the prevailing campaign against security forces of the country on social media and take theperpetrators of this defamation campaign to task.
