GUJRANWALA: PPP leader Sagheer Butt and hundreds of workers participated in a protest against the government. Butt told media that the government has failed to resolve the problems of the citizens, electricity tariff has doubled in the last four years and the duration of load shedding has increased.
Separately, Commissioner Muhammad Asif directed the authorities concerned to make necessary arrangements for upcoming monsoon. He was addressing a meeting to review the arrangements to meet the monsoon season. He said coordination between institutions concerned was of vital importance to meet the challenges, timely provision of machinery and equipment should be ensured in case of any emergent. The commissioner said that protective arrangements should be completed throughout the division and immediate evacuation of the population should be ensured in case of need. He said that there should be proper arrangements for food, medicines and fodder for livestock in the concerned areas. Separately, dozens of railway colony residents protested against railway administration for not repairing the water supply motor.
They shouted slogans against the administration. Meanwhile, a woman along with her children protested against revenue officers in front of DC Office. Ghafuran, a resident of Badoki, alleged that her nephew Ahmed Ali with collaboration of revenue officials has transferred her property in his name. She demanded that illegal transfer deed of her property must be cancelled.
