HASSAN ABDAL: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Thursday visited the under-construction Burhan-Havelian section of Hazara Motorway and inspected the quality of work.
The Hazara Motorway, also named as E-35, originates from Burhan on M-1 Peshawar-Islamabad Motorway and ends at Havelian. The 59-kilometre-long motorway will include six lanes and will be completed by August.
National Highway Authority (NHA) Chairman Shahid Ashraf Tarar briefed the prime minister on the project.
The said that E-35 Motorway had been divided into three sub-sections – section-1, from Burhan Jarikas (20.4 km); section-2, Jarikas to Sarai Saleh (19.2 km); and section-3, from Sarai Saleh to Havelian (19.4 km).
The E-35 Motorway is an important part of China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and will benefit the local population.
The project will cost Rs 34 billion and is being carried out with the assistance of Asian Development Bank.
Balochistan CM: Balochistan Chief Minister Nawab Sanaullah Zehri called on Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif at THE PM House on Thursday to discuss progress in ongoing development projects, including CPEC, in Balochistan.
The PM said that the government was taking steps to develop the country. “The government is looking forward to progress in Balochistan. Therefore, work on road construction, communication projects and other development projects is underway,” the PM said.
Japanese minister: Nobuo Kishi, the state minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, called on the PM on Thursday.
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said that Pakistan now offered great investment opportunities in various sectors. The PM warmly welcomed the state minister and his delegation to Pakistan. “Pakistan is keen to carry forward the shared vision for promoting peace, prosperity and development of our people,” he said.
The PM recalled very warm and cordial exchange with Prime Minister Abe in New York in September 2016 and reaffirmed the common commitment to further strengthen bilateral relations.
