HYDERABAD: The Sindh National Tehrik has warned that if four million Afghanis living in Sindh were counted in the national census then the Sindhi speaking people would not accept the results.
This was declared in a joint statement by SNT Chairman Ashraf Noonari, Lala Qurban Sodhro, Najeeb Thebo, Dr Uzma Jokhyo, Abida Siddiqui, Jhangi Mallah, Akhtar Sindhi and others in Hyderabad on Wednesday.
They said the census was a matter of life and death for the people of Sindh. They added that according to official figures over nine million illegal immigrants were living in the province while five million Afghani, Bengalis and Burmese were holding national identity cards, who would be counted in the coming census and therefore would convert Sindhi’s into a minority – they believe this to be a conspiracy.
The SNT leaders termed NADRA as the country’s most corrupt organization saying illegal immigrants were being issued NICs for bribes.
